Ondrej Nepela Memorial 2008 PDF Protocol
General regulations
The competition will be held in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2008 and the Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dancing 2008, as well as all relevant ISU Communications.
Participation in the Ondrej Nepela Memorial is open to all skaters who belong to an ISU Member and qualify with regard to eligibility according to ISU Constitutions and General Regulations Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in ISU Rule 108, paragraph 2.b) and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirement in ISU Rule 109, and ISU Communication No. 1420 or any update of this Communication. Entries can only be made through the ISU Members. The winner of the men category will receive replica of the Nepela - Cup, the original cup remains in the organiser's possession.

Participation
Each ISU Member may take part with 2 competitors/teams in each category. There will be a maximum of 24 Ladies and Men accepted and in the category Ice Dancing 15 dance couples. The Organizer will execute its right to select the competitors in the case that a greater number of entries are arriving.
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel category Ice Dancing in case that there is less then 5 entries of couples from 3 different members. This will be announced immediately after the deadline. Each participating Member has the right to enter one International Judge. If an ISU Member has entries in two single events or in one single event and the ice dance event or has entries for three or more disciplines, this Member has the right to enter a second judge, who has to have the international qualification for ice dancing AND if possible also for singles.
Should there be too many judges nominated for participation, the organizer reserves the right to draw for the composition of panels beforehand and inform those judges who are not drawn for service. Only Judges, who have participated in one of the ISU Seminars for the ISU Judging System, are eligible to serve in the “Ondrej Nepela Memorial 2008”.

Music
All Competitors shall furnish competition music of excellent quality on either CD, MD or DAT format, in accordance with Rules 343, paragraph 1 and Rule 533, paragraph 1. In accordance with Rule 343, paragraph 1 and Rule 533, paragraph 1, all discs must show the Competition event, Competitor's name, the Nation and the exact running time of the music (not skating time) including any starting signal and must be submitted at the time of registration. Each program (short program, free skating, original dance, free dance) must be recorded on one track and on a separate disc. In addition, competitors/couples must provide a back-up drive for each program.
If music information is not complete and cassettes or discs not provided, accreditation will not be given.
Expenses
The organiser will provide accommodation and meals for all Referees, Judges drawn for the panel as to paragraph 3 above and Event Officials beginning with dinner on Friday, November 21 until breakfast on Monday, November 23, 2008. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
Travel expenses will be paid only to the Referees, the Technical Specialists and the Technical Controllers based on economy airfare.
All Competitors, Coaches and Team Leaders have to bear their own expenses. See Chapt. 8 - Official Hotel.
Individual results
The marking system as described in ISU Special Regulations Single and Pair Skating/Ice Dancing 2008, Rule 352 and 353.
The three best-placed skaters/couples in each event will be announced and honoured at the official Victory Ceremony. The national anthem of the winner will be played and the flag of the winners hoisted.
Arrival of participants / teams
All Referees, Assistant Referees, Judges, Competitors, Team Leaders, Team Officials and Coaches taking part in the competition are requested to announce to the Organizing Committee as soon as possible but no later than October 20, 2008, the name of the airlines, flight numbers, dates and times of arrival at the Bratislava International Airport (BTS) or any other information concerning transportation and arrivals. The official “travel form” should be used.
Bratislava has its own international M. R. Štefánik Airport, direct flights Austrian Airlines daily from Brussels, London, Paris are organized to this airport. Also SkyEurope see www.skyeurope.com and Lufthansa direct daily flights are from London, Milan, Paris, Munich and Zurich, and Czech Airlines from Prague to Bratislava.

Liability
In accordance with Rule 119, it is the sole responsibility of each Member participating in 15th Ondrej Nepela Memorial, to provide medical and accident insurance for their athletes, officials and all other members of the Member's team. Such insurance must assure full medical attendance and also the return to the home country by air transport or by other expeditious means of the ill or injured person.
The Organizer assumes no responsibility for or liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage incurred by Competitors and Officials.
The Organizer will provide emergency medical services for all invited Officials and Competitors during the competition.
